How To Reach Dzongu Valley Sikkim:

Dzongu Valley is situated at a distance of almost 67 km from Gangtok and almost 155 km from NJP Railway Station and when you book a taxi service from NJP to Gangtok it would take almost 6 hours to reach Dzongu. You can treat Gangtok as your first destination and eat some delicious cuisines there and then again start your journey towards Dzongu.

Tourists require a special permit from Mangan to travel to Dzongu and this process becomes easier when you book a tour operator. Along with providing Bagdogra airport taxi service to travel to Dzongu, there are quite a good of number of local tour operators who offer affordable Sikkim tour packages.

Best Time To Visit:

March to May (that is late spring and summer time) is considered to be the best time to visit Dzongu as the weather remains pleasant and the sun shines brightly.

Places of attractions in and around Dzongu:

1-Tholung Monastery- resting point for the trekkers

Tholung Monastery situated at an elevation of almost 8,000 ft, is considered to be among the most sacred places of the region. One has to trek for approximately 18-20 km from Lingthem which farther goes through the cardamom groves along the Tholung River. Dzongu is also the place where the ancient scriptures, holy artifacts and other belongings of the Lamas can be found.

2- Lingzya Falls-the three-tiered waterfall in Dzongu:

It is the most beautiful sightseeing place in Dzongu which is located at a distance of 8 km from Passingdang Village. Get the awe-inspiring views of the water falling from the height of 250 ft.

To reach there, one has to hike through the beautiful Charmel Village through surrounding forest and Cantilever Bridge along the side of mountain cliffs. Though Dzongu is blessed with several other waterfalls but Lingzya Falls has stood out among the others to be the most spectacular one.

Passingdang Village has a number of homestays for the tourists to stay in and one can easily get a closer insight into the customs and traditions of the Lepcha community residing over here. While in Passingdang do not forget to get a taste of the local snack Khabze and the Millet Beer (a local form of liquor made in homes).

4-Kusheong Valley-looks heavenly with the carpets of flowers

Kusheong Valley must be visited during a trip to Dong as it is among those places which offer inner tranquility with the pristine beauty of nature. Situated at an elevation of 5,000 ft, it is a paradise of a nature enthusiast as the natural beauty of the place deserves to be admired. You will have to trek for almost three days to reach Kusheong Valley from Dzongu.
